Lungisani True-man Ngidi, or Lungi Ngidi as he is commonly known, is a rising cricket star from South Africa. Born on March 29, 1996, in Durban, Natal, Ngidi is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who has impressed cricket fans and experts alike with his pace, accuracy, and skill.
Ngidi is a towering figure, standing at 1.93m, or 6 feet 4 inches tall. Ngidi can consistently bowl at speeds of over 140 kph, making him one of the fastest bowlers in South Africa’s current crop of players.
Cricket Career
Ngidi’s cricketing career began at a young age when he started playing cricket in his hometown of Durban. Ngidi was involved at every provincial age-group level from Under-13 upwards, and he quickly established himself as a talented player.
In 2014, Ngidi played for Kwa-Zulu Natal Under-19s at the Khaya Majola week, a national youth cricket tournament in South Africa. It was here that he caught the eye of Northerns, a cricket franchise based in Pretoria. They facilitated his move up country, where he continued to develop his skills at the University of Pretoria.
